Swift ticket machines
We have ticket machines that let you buy tickets or add money and tickets to your Swift card.
You can also use them to collect tickets or top ups that you have already bought online or in the TfWM app.
You can pay using a debit/credit card but some of our machines also accept cash.
If you’re paying by cash, the maximum amount of cash accepted in one transaction is £70 and £50 notes are not accepted.
Metro ticket machines
Metro ticket machines are available at all tram stops and can be used in the same way to buy tickets, top up a Swift card, or collect tickets purchased online or in the TfWM app.

Swift Cards and passes unavailable at machines
Some Swift cards and passes require eligibility checks before they can be issued.
Instead the following must be ordered online:
- New Swift Child photocard
- New Swift 16-18 photocard
- New Student tickets
- New Older Person’s Travel Pass
- New Disabled Person’s Travel Pass
Once you receive your new Swift card or pass you can use our ticket machines to add tickets, top up or collect tickets bought online or in the TfWM app.
