What’s happening?
Villa Park in Aston will be hosting four major concerts this summer, featuring globally renowned artists. These events are expected to attract large crowds and may impact traffic and transport services in and around Birmingham on the following dates:
- Guns 'n' Roses - Monday 23 June (Gates open at 16:00)
- Chris Brown - Thursday 26 June (Gates open at 16:30)
- Black Sabbath - Saturday 5 July (Gates open at 11:00)
- Kendrick Lamar & SZA - Thursday 10 July (Gates open at 16:00)
How to get there
If you’re attending any of these concerts and planning on getting to Villa Park by car, bus, metro or train, this is what you need to know:
By Train
Travelling by train is one of the most direct ways to travel to Villa Park. There will be additional services on rail to and from Witton and Aston stations on concert days. The last train from Witton is at 11.48pm to Rugeley Trent Valley and from Aston station at 11:52pm to Birmingham City Centre.
By Bus:
NX services 7, 11A and 11C will divert for egress. Other services that may be affected with delays include 33, 51, 934, 935, 936, 937, 997 Platinum and 67.
By Shuttle Bus:
Aston Villa will also have a dedicated shuttle bus to pick up and drop off concert-goers. Running from 3.30pm-7.30pm from Dudley Street, Birmingham. Return shuttle journeys will be from 10pm until midnight.
For Black Sabbath shuttle buses will run from 8.00pm-12.00am.
By Tram:
Trams will be operating from usual to and from Wolverhampton and Birmingham City Centre. For onward travel from Birmingham please use direct trains, buses or shuttle buses to get to Aston Villa.
The local area around Villa Park is expected to be very busy on concert days. For stress free and easy journeys please use public transport where possible. Further information on how to get to Aston Villa is available here.

By Car
The junction of Birchfield Road and Aston Lane leading towards Perry Barr and A38M may be congested before and after the concert. Additionally, there will be road closures around the venue. If you’re planning to drive, please check the 'Road Closures' section below for our latest travel advice and plan to leave earlier to minimise any disruption to your journey.
By Park & Ride
You can also use one of our Park & Ride sites: The Hawthorns, Wednesbury Parkway, Black Lake, Bradley Lane and Priestfield and then hop on public transport for the rest of your journey.

Road Closures
Event day Road Closures
For each of the three concerts (excluding Black Sabbath), the following roads will be closed:
- Trinity Road – between the junctions with Witton Lane and Nelson Road
- Witton Lane – from Witton Island to Trinity Road
Closure time:
- From 1:00 PM until approximately midnight on each concert day
Black Sabbath – Saturday, 5th July
Due to an earlier event start (doors open at 11:00 AM), the road closures will begin the evening before:
- Trinity Road – between the junctions with Witton Lane and Nelson Road
- Witton Lane – from Witton Island to Trinity Road
Closure time:
- From 8:00 PM on Friday, 4th July until approximately midnight on Saturday
