Dudley Regeneration
Dudley Port railway station - Parking
Ends: Ongoing
Last updated: 17 April 2024

What’s happening?
From Monday 11 August for a period of up to eleven weeks, there will be road closure on Castle Hill towards Dudley. Traffic will continue to flow downhill, towards Castlegate Island throughout.
The road work will involve the installation and programming of permanent traffic signals, paving, kerb and signpost remediations and additional lighting column installation amongst other activities. Works will take place on following phases:
- Monday 11 August – Sunday 5 October: traffic to flow down zoo side of Castle Hill;
- Monday 6 – Sunday 19 October: traffic will flow down the casino side of Castle Hill, with no access to Trindle Road from Castlegate Island;
- Monday 20 – Friday 24 October: overnight restrictions will be in place as work occurs on both sides of Castle Hill (one at a time).
Dudley Port railway station - Parking
A new Metro line is being constructed from Wednesbury to Dudley via Great Bridge and Tipton. Whilst construction works are taking place, the roads you usually use to travel may be affected during various stages of the work. To minimise disruption please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys.
The overflow car park at Dudley Port railway station is closed. This is because of the tram extension. The main car park is still open.
If you normally use the overflow car park:
- leave extra time for your journey
- walk or cycle to the station instead of driving
- get the bus to the station instead of driving - buses 22, 74 and 74A stop there
- use the main car park instead
The overflow car park will reopen when the tram route opens in 2025. It will become a park and ride for the tram and the train.
