Dudley Interchange

The new Dudley Interchange is a key part of the regeneration of Dudley town centre. It is creating a transport hub that will allow passengers to switch seamlessly between bus services and the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension.

Our scheme is just one in a series of major regeneration projects which are set to transform Dudley town centre. They will help connect residents to jobs, education and training opportunities as well as leisure and healthcare facilities.

Latest works

Significant progress continues on site with the multiple layers of tarmac now complete and the arrival of buses. The final lining of the bays will be completed shortly and visitors will see them practice manoeuvres and markers as driver training gets underway for the ‘drive in, reverse out' facility in the West Midlands.

Another exciting milestone has also been reached with the Dudley Bus Station and Dudley Interchange signs illuminated for the first time.

Work is also progressing well on the new smart amphitheatre area. Kerbs and paving are being installed to create an attractive space where people can relax, dwell and enjoy views of the Castle on drier days. The area will feature step-free ramp access, tiered seating and carefully selected planting to soften the landscape and create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

As construction advances, the site is beginning to take shape as a fully functional transport hub while also providing high-quality public spaces for the community to enjoy.

Taylor Woodrow is the main contractor for the project and construction has been underway since summer 2025.

The interchange is set to open and be used by passengers in 2026.
