Metro Extension

What’s happening?

Over the next ten years there is around £1.3bn of investment planned for the West Midlands Metro to create a more connected public transport network and region. 

The extensions are planned, designed and constructed by Midland Metro Alliance on behalf of West Midlands Combined Authority.

Duncan Edwards Way, Dudley

Mondays to Friday from Monday 27 January for up to three weeks between 9:30am and 3:30pm.


As part of the ongoing construction of Phase Two of the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension, piling activity will be taking place on Duncan Edwards Way, Dudley, in the coming weeks.


Traffic on Duncan Edwards Way will be reduced to one lane during off-peak times, when travelling towards Dudley on weekdays.

Travel tips

You will still be able to get to where you need to go, but consider the following:

Your journey may take longer than expected. Plan ahead.
Consider using public transport where possible to reduce congestion on the transport network. Roadworks in the area may cause delays.
