Sprint

Trinity Road Junction

Starts 27 February 2025 until Ongoing

Last updated: 5 February 2025

What’s happening?

Sprint is a bus priority corridor that will link Walsall with the centre of Birmingham, Solihull and Birmingham Airport - joining the A34 with the A45 to create one continuous bus route.

Sprint will bring benefits for all bus passengers: providing more reliable, regular and predictable journey times, connecting our region and protecting our environment too.

A milestone project, Sprint is being delivered by Transport for West Midlands and forms part of the region-wide ambition to improve the public transport experience.

Trinity Road Junction

From Thursday 27 February, works will take place at Trinity Road junction off the A34 Birchfield Road southbound.

There will be no right turn into Heathfield Road.

To access Handsworth Wood from the north of Birmingham, please use the A4040 Wellington Road right turn from the One Stop roundabout.

Due to this right turn closure, there will be some changes to bus stops on Heathfield Road and Trinity Road.

NX 52 Bus towards Birmingham will be diverted continuing along A34 Birchfield Road, taking a U turn at Six Ways junction and returning along the A34 Birchfield Road to take a left into Heathfield Road.

These works are taking place as part of A34 Sprint Phase II work.

Be mindful of the bus stop changes and bus diversion. Allow more time for your bus journeys. To plan your journey by bus use JourneyPlanner

We will continue to update this page so please check back for further information.
